Another Amazing Summer!

We can’t believe how fast the summer of 2024 went by. Memories were made throughout the camp program: from the turf field to the coding & robotics rooms all the way to the theatre and gyms. Our campers shined throughout the 7-week program. We heard endless cheers and saw large smiles. Friendships and memories were made that will remain with our campers during the school year.

We welcomed many new and returning BVG students in the summer of 2024. Many lower school students joined us for their very first summer camp experience on the Wildlings program and had an absolute blast. The BVG upper school students joined our Trailblazers Maverick programs and had an amazing experience trying new out (and specializing) in new our diverse specialty camps. We are so proud how the BVG camp program is able to provide summer experiences for all BVG students, truly exemplifying the WHOLE CHILD approach of our organization. We look forward to continuing to provide these experiences through our afterschool programming this school year.

This summer we continued our partnership with the Hospital for sick children (Sick kids). We were able to assist Archie’s Cochlear Implant Laboratory by providing youth in their program with a day camp experience where their dexterity and reaction time could be documented and tracked through onsite testing. It was great to have the Sick Kids staff team onsite with us for the 7 weeks. This partnership allowed us to welcome some new amazing individuals into our camp community, this partnership is just another example of the inclusive nature of the BVG Camp program. As we look forward to the summer of 2025, we hope that we can continue to grow this partnership for many years to come.

For the summer of 2024 we continued to offer new and exciting programming options to campers of all ages. We began a new partnership with Real Programming 4 Kids. This was an amazing coding program that taught our campers how to code. It was an extremely popular program that was highly sought after. A pillar of our camp program remains our offsite camp options. Both Lake Days and Sailing Camp are two rare day camp opportunities found with the GTA. These specialty camp program provided our campers the opportunities to enjoy wone of the largest water-inflatable parks in the GTA and learn how to sail on Lake Ontario. They always returned from lake days with huge smiles and great stories to share.

Our inclusion program continued its amazing growth. We were able to expand the number of inclusion campers in our program. The inclusion campers were supported by their 1:1 facilitators to help them integrate into the camp program with their same age peers. Our inclusion program continued to be the heart and soul of the BVG camp program. We saw our inclusion campers take risks and challenge themselves to try new activities. We are so proud of how much our inclusion camper accomplished during the summer and we can’t wait to see what great new things they accomplish in 2025. As always, we hope that we can continue to welcome many more inclusion campers to BVG.

We were very lucky to have such an amazing staff team. They worked tirelessly to ensure that all our BVG campers had a memorable experience. Our staff showed dedication and hard work to ensure the success of the camp program. We are grateful for their hard work and diligence throughout the 7-week camp program. Our camp is only as strong as the amazing staff that join us each Summer!

As we bring the summer of 2024 to a close. We are excited to continue to offer BVG Camps after school programming. Just because the summer has ended doesn’t mean the camp spirit and fun must end. Please keep your eyes peeled for more information about these exciting after-school programs.
